DMCA Policy

Toon Tone (toontone.dev) respects the intellectual property rights of others. This policy describes how we handle copyright infringement claims under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) and similar international copyright laws.

1. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that material on toontone.dev infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to:

Your notice must include all of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  2. Identification of the infringing material on toontone.dev (URL or specific page)
  3. Your contact information: full name, address, phone number, email
  4. A good faith statement: “I have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
  5. An accuracy statement, under penalty of perjury: “The information in this notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
  6. Your physical or electronic signature

2. Our Response

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will:

  • Within 48 hours: Remove or disable access to the disputed material
  • Within 7 days: Send the notifying party a confirmation email

3. Counter-Notice

If you believe content was removed by mistake, file a counter-notice to dmca@toontone.dev:

  1. Identification of the removed material and its previous location
  2. A good faith statement, under penalty of perjury
  3. Your contact information and consent to jurisdiction
  4. Your physical or electronic signature

Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant and restore the material in 10-14 business days unless they file a lawsuit.

4. Repeat Infringers

We do not host user-uploaded media (Toon Tone has no UGC upload feature in MVP). For recurring DMCA disputes, we may permanently ban the offending IP or device.

6. Trademark Complaints

For trademark complaints (not copyright), email dmca@toontone.dev with subject line “Trademark Complaint”.

7. Right of Publicity / Likeness Complaints

If a character on toontone.dev portrays your name, image, or likeness without permission, email dmca@toontone.dev with subject line “Right of Publicity Complaint”.

8. False or Bad-Faith Notices

Under U.S. law (17 U.S.C. §512(f)), persons who knowingly file false DMCA notices may be liable for damages.

9. International Notices

Similar takedown procedures apply under your local copyright law (EU Copyright Directive, UK CDPA, etc.). Send notices to dmca@toontone.dev with reference to your applicable law.

10. Original Toon Tone Sahur Creator Notices

If you are @tole.dit, the creator of the original Toon Tone Sahur game, and you have any concern about how this fan-tribute site represents the original work — including but not limited to taking the site down — please contact us at contact@toontone.dev or dmca@toontone.dev.

We will respond within 48 hours and prioritize your concerns. We will:

  • Update our Disclaimer / About page wording as you request
  • Add additional attribution or links you request
  • Take the site down entirely if you request

We are independent fans who love your original game. We do not want to harm your project.
